I am Tina Karagulian, and I absolutely love to support your soul wisdom and empowerment. For over 30 years, I have walked with others during their spiritual awakenings, life transitions, dark night of the soul, and inner transformation. Clients report experiencing inner peace, increased health and vitality, connection to their inner truth, and awakened creativity in a safe and inviting space. I collaborate with you to explore embodiment practices (inner child dialogue, yoga, body wisdom, guided meditations, creativity, and sound healing), so you can be fully present in your body and life.

As a licensed counselor, I offer space for you to speak your truth, open your creativity (with collage), reparent your inner child with compassion, and understand your mind. As an intuitive artist, I create unique bird and abstract paintings of color and movement that come to life to inspire and spark healing in you. As a 200-hour certified Kundalini Yoga instructor and group facilitator, I teach ways to increase mental focus and intuition, go into stillness, and include sound healing relaxation to integrate your experience. I invite opportunities for you to speak truth, trust your natural rhythm, and awaken your creativity, and find what brings your soul joy in your life.

Art Bio - Tina Karagulian

I was born in Pennsylvania, raised in New Jersey, educated in Massachusetts, and currently living in Austin, Texas. In a college elective class on painting, I discovered an intuitive ease of mixing colors. A self-taught artist, in 1992 I graduated with a Masters degree in Social Work from Boston University and incorporated art therapy and collage in my counseling with others. In 1996 I felt the pull to give time to my own creativity through acrylic painting. San Antonio's 1998 McNay Art Museum’s exhibition O’Keefe and Texas was a pivotal moment in how I viewed painting: when I saw pink snow in O’Keeffe’s painting of Roof with Snow, my world opened up, where the real world and abstraction could merge. Georgia O'Keeffe and Dorothy Hood pushed the edges of how I express form and space, with the simple, bold stroke of color. Matisse’s fauve paintings, his collage cut outs of color, and his blue nude series, inspired me to reshape elements in life in new ways. Along with painting, collage as an art form has never left me. It is the morning pages for all types of creativity to emerge, and I see it as a portal to ignite the creativity in others. My art solo exhibitions include Inner and Outer Space: Paintings and Poetry at Intermezzo Gallery, Boerne, TX in 2015, Celebrating New Heights in Women's Art in 2017, and the following group exhibitions: Release and Receive: Portals of Transcendence at Fishead Design Studio and Microgallery, San Antonio, Texas, and A Certain Sense of Her, Celebrating Women’s History Month at Coastal Bend College in Beeville, TX, a South Texas women's artist organization GAGA (Gentileschi Aegis Gallery Association) exhibition. My artwork has been displayed at the San Antonio gallery Mockingbird Handprints, and SAALM (San Antonio Art League and Museum).

The subject matter of my work is usually nature in some form: water, birds, color, and light. Yet my process always starts with color, and in my vision, I often see at least two colors that beckon me. Color is alive and like to play and dance together, and color brings healing, balance, and peace into our homes, our bodies, and our world. Finding and pairing color to awaken the senses and connect to nature is my goal. I often find images when I walk outside by the trees, listen for the birds, walk by the ocean or river, or from my silent meditations. From clients' testimonials after they have purchased my artwork, I have heard common themes of peace and healing, and that is what I would like to impart for my audience as well as my art collectors. My art is contemporary yet nature-based, and I use many styles and elements to bring to life the spirit of the subject matter before me. It is a co-creation each time, meant to bring healing and to remind us all to embraces life’s endless possibilities. I invite you to find the joyful place within your hearts, to rest and to linger in contemplation, and to appreciate the majesty of our natural world.
