April 18, 12:00 pm: Texas Armenian Genocide Commemoration and Peace March in Austin, TX

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, Armenians from Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and throughout Texas are planning a march to the Texas State Capitol in Austin. Gathering at 12 noon at First United Methodist Church Family Life Center, 1300 Lavaca Street, Austin, Texas 78701, short prayer at 12:45 pm, and marching to the Capitol begins at 1 pm, followed by a program at the Capitol south steps from 2 to 3:30 pm. Featured speakers include Genocide and Human Rights educator Khatchig Mouradian. At 4 pm will be a memorial dinner at the Family Life Center at 1300 Lavaca Street.
