Fullness
I want you to know
that even though you can’t fully hear me,
I can see all of you.
I want you to know
that I cannot fix that place in your heart,
but I will love you to the best of my ability.
I want you to know
that my first instinct is to protect you,
but I know there are times
you must be your own warrior.
I want you to know
that I am human and have made many mistakes,
and that even with every conceivable imperfection,
in the crevices of my heart,
I adore your soul and always will.

At times, we carry untold stories of abandonment, inspiration, grief, hope,
longing, or a loved one’s story within us. Through the world of poetry, one can
claim those stories and reshape them in ways that create not only an opening
but a space for integration of self. We will spend the morning listening to
music as we journal, then create poetry from its pages. You have the option to
recite your poetry aloud within the group. In the afternoon, each of us will share
a current favorite inspirational song and its lyrics, and afterward we will create
a group poem! Please bring a lunch item to share, a notebook or journal, the
CD or tape of your inspirational song, and paper copies of its lyrics. No writing
experienced required. Cost: $85. Additional $10 to receive 6-hour CEU
certificate for LPCs, LMFTs, & social workers. Please reserve your space.
